Train to St Louis

We had lunch at Harvey's, and I had the best chicken-fried chicken I've had in a long time.

Painting in train station

Most of yesterday was taken up by a boring six-hour train trip in coach class. Turns out, I don't like all train travel.

Our hotel, the Drury, was supposed to be across the street from Union Station. And it was--but we didn't end up at Union Station, which was closed. I don't know what was going on there. Anyway, it was only about a six-block walk, but not a simple path.

The Drury "at" Union Station

Paula and I got a handicapped room. It has a shallow tub, which Paula can get into, rather than a walk-in shower. The bed is low enough that she can get into it without needing an extra step. On the negative side, the placement of the desk could not be much more awkward.

Desk, chair, two doors

There was only one chair in the room, but we got a second from the main desk.
